Thank you, Nancy! You didn’t over-sell the merits of your Deep, Healing Sleep CD. I’ve listened to it many times and today have it running continually to float in the relaxing, positive energy you express. It eased the allergic tickle in my throat when I listened to it at the hospital’s Sleep Fair where we met, and now my “lost voice” is almost back! Thank you for being there in the exactly perfect place for me to get the help I desperately needed. You’ve given me my life back. Gratefully,

Hi Nancy -I am 49, a many-year yoga teacher, yoga nidra teacher and cancer/palliative care social worker – currently going through the experience of triple negative breast cancer treatment…While I have guided many patients and students through this journey, I felt deeply that I needed a guide or coach myself. I find much of what’s available in the world of visualization unhelpful or unfitting with my own spiritual view… I am so grateful to have found your deeply wise offering “Chemotherapy: A… Read more

Nancy – I am very grateful for your sweet, peaceful voice guiding me on my healing journey, and into healing sleep! I’m home from the hospital now, and doing well. Your guidance on the Healing Affirmations & Harp (and earlier, the Pain and Surgery CDs) is responsible for so much of my progress. Thank you. You are an Angel.

How were you drawn to Nancy’s work? About three years ago there was a lovely article in the Register Guard and it really told all about her. I had [breast] cancer at the time but it had not spread and I wasn’t really in need of, or didn’t think I was in need, of help at the time. But very shortly after that, Nancy had a CD signing over at Border’s bookstore and I was out of town…but I gave her a call because my cancer had spread and I was needing to start chemo. One of the reasons our neighborhood is such a jewel, is the ongoing yoga+ classes Nancy offers at the Healing Sanctuary. What a luxury it is not having to get in a car! When Nancy works us hard, we find laughter a great way to persevere. Personally, the focus on abdominal/core work combined with gentle stretching has kept my mild scoliosis symptom-free. Nancy is doing some incredibly powerful work with tonal vibrations elicited from a series of beauteous bowls which carried me to depths I had only experienced previously through sweat lodge ceremonies, of times spent with the rock elders. This is not work for anyone with preconceptions formed from other healing practices. Nancy Hopps fairly beams as she casts her inner glow over the Eugene Chamber Theatre’s “The Descent of Inanna,” a dark and complex modern telling of a 5,000 year old Sumarian myth. Hopps does it all – sings, dances, acts. But primarily she makes you believe in the joys, pains and magnitude of Inanna’s challenges. Her Inanna embodies all the elements of both a sprite and a stone. She is vague and ephemeral one moment, specific and sensual the next. It is her show, and she puts an enormous stamp o… Read more

This is the first time that a crystal bowls presentation really “touched me” – I’ve been to many different events, and they just never really did anything for me. Thanks so much for the CD on surgery and mending. It was wonderful. I was really apprehensive about the surgery to the point where I was focusing mostly on all the things that could go wrong. Your guided meditations and the lovely harp music really allowed me to redirect all those negative thoughts. Don’t get me wrong – I didn’t exactly leap onto the surgery table. But on the other hand, I did show up at the hospital on my assigned date with a calm mind and a relaxed body, both of which I’m sure… Read more

I have been privileged to practice EDGU with Nancy for many years. I was delighted when her EDGU DVD became available because it allowed me to continue the physical and spiritual part of the practice at home. I have given her DVD as a gift to several friends who have found it very valuable as well.

Nancy brings her gift for sharing deep love and acceptance of who you are to the practice of EDGU. My time spent with Nancy in EDGU has been deeply healing and inspiring to my life in many ways from working through depression and anxiety to learning to love and accept myself as I am. I also began to grow and develop my sense of connection to a higher purpose and to my higher self as student of Nancy’s EDGU class. This was not an overnight process but I do know that my years of EDGU practice wi… Read more

Ms. Hopps has produced one of the best relaxation tapes available for use with patients suffering from PTSD symptomatology [anger, anxiety, depression, insomnia]. Her rich voice, the timing of her suggestions, and the minimal use of music make Relaxation/Affirmation Techniques a classic among stress-management materials.

…What is also in the play’s favor is seven terrific roles for four actors. First, there is Sylvia, a tour-de-force role played to the whiskers by Nancy Hopps. She is everything a winsome dog can be – cute, peppy, poutty, sexy, irritable, you name it. She throws herself headlong into the demanding role and carries the day. A stunning performance!

I love that Nancy’s CoreYoga+ class is refreshingly real. I come away with a sense of peace and a sense of community that comes from having fun with others. It’s about balancing physical exertion, breath, laughter and relaxation. Nancy makes that all come together magically.

I first started working with Nancy in 2003. I had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years previously, and I was having a hell of a time figuring out how to go forward. Nancy was amazingly helpful, supportive, and incredibly patient during this period of our association. Guest director Peter Anthony created a revision of this Shakespearean masterpiece that allowed the author’s revision and passion to emerge through the original eloquent dialogue…one change that made this production so enjoyable for the audience was the continual stage presence of the three witches who open the play. Taking yoga with Nancy is challenging, sweat inducing and fun. She brings a wealth of experience, training, understanding and patience to her classes. Nancy is a wonderful teacher for the novice or the long time practitioner. I have been wanting to write to you ever since your fall Napa concert. I had a most amazing thing happen during your concert...I was suddenly aware of a total change in the air quality. I have received nothing but positive comments from our patients. Many have asked for [a CD] of their own…patients appear to respond quickly to the format of your relaxation techniques.

Yours are some of the top ones we recommend for people seriously wanting to deal with stress. They’re very effective! And people really like the affirmations, too. We sell a lot of them!

It was a special privilege to be in your workshop. I gained a great amount of peace and strength from the encounter. Really, I feel that is why I am now free to go and do a whole new adventure…starting a whole new chapter in my life. Thanks, Nancy, for the work you are doing. My life is richer for having known you.

I’ve had MS for 20 years, and stress for many more, and I felt wonderful for days after hearing your tape.
