The healing hands, voice and other amazing offerings by Nancy Hopps are something I hope you get to experience in your lifetime. Whether it be through her Relax Into Healing CDs (in my case, the one for before, during and after Surgery), or at one of her crystal singing bowls events, or through massage and sound healing work at her beautiful Healing Sanctuary, you, like me, will be better for it. I have experienced all of the above and my body, mind and spirit have benefited in a way that I can only describe as ‘peaceful, soothing and ultimately very healing.

I’ve attended a number of seminars, and I’d say yours is one of the best, as far as coming away with really useful tools…I still use your CD frequently as a way to relax mentally as well as physically – to stop the barrage of thoughts that always crowd in when I stop long enough to try and relax. I would highly recommend your seminar to anyone. It was well worth the investment of time and money.

Nancy is doing some incredibly powerful work with tonal vibrations elicited from a series of beauteous bowls which carried me to depths I had only experienced previously through sweat lodge ceremonies, of times spent with the rock elders. This is not work for anyone with preconceptions formed from other healing practices. As for the vocals that were present…some of the “rawness” that came out helped break down blocks and holds within me. Like claws strong enough to score stone. Those moments of … Read more

I’ve read so many books about meditation, yoga, etc., and I’ve been in India studying meditation from Indian yogis and Tibetan lamas. Of all I learned, I still prefer color meditation to anything else…As you know, each color has a specific beneficial “quality” (there is a better word in Danish, but I can’t find the equivalent in English)…still, I can’t visualize colors clearly. Once again, you have made my life so much better!!! I have been listening to your CD’s/tapes for many years, regularly, especially at night. I gave your [RELAXATION/AFFIRMATION CD]to my 70-yr.old mom about a year ago, and she loves it! I’ve never seen her take to anything- any other tapes or books – like she has to yours. She has high blood pressure, stress, and a host of other health problems, and she listens to your tape religiously every afternoon. She actually wore it out! So I’d like to send her one of each of your relaxation CD’s for an anniversary gift.

How were you drawn to Nancy’s work? About three years ago there was a lovely article in the Register Guard and it really told all about her. The most mature play [of the festival] is “Mind Your Own Abyssness” by Nancy Hopps. Here, surrealistic metaphor becomes actual as a man grapples with powerful emotions. At one point he shouts at his fellow actor to, “Quit f**king with my internal landscape!” Take that Edward Albee.

Nancy Hopps fairly beams as she casts her inner glow over the Eugene Chamber Theatre’s “The Descent of Inanna,” a dark and complex modern telling of a 5,000 year old Sumarian myth. Hopps does it all – sings, dances, acts. But primarily she makes you believe in the joys, pains and magnitude of Inanna’s challenges.
