I’ve listened to a lot of relaxation tapes and CDs, but yours is the best – the most balanced – your voice is wonderful, the affirmations are…not too flowery!

As I said, for now, I offer you a few selections from my many years’ worth of archived poems for all occasions.  I often joke that I grew up reading too much Dr. Seuss, and sometimes I can’t help myself from rhyming all the timing!    [NOTE: I occasionally hire out my services to create rhymes for others’ special occasions – solemn or silly, you give me the key points, I’ll take it from there.  Contact me if interested.]   Oh boy!! Enjoy!

A LITTLE PRE-WEDDING DITTY

(–written late July, 2012)

My little girl – a bride?!! Oh my…
How quickly do the years fly by!
Can Spud and Pedro really be
Becoming One beneath our tree(s)?
In two short weeks! Methinks it’s true.
So ends this poem – I’ve much to do!!!

CHOOSING WHAT IS – A Morning Poem

(–written March 19, 2020, during the corona virus “home-sheltering” mandate.)

With all the “have-to’s” stripped away,
My deeper “wants” come into play.
Yet, ‘midst the swirl within my mind,
My true desires are tough to find.

“I should” still rears its tyrant’s head,
Replacing wants with “but, instead
I should” do this, accomplish that,
The list grows long, in seconds flat.

I wonder, will there come a time
When peace prevails within my mind?
When what I’m doing here and now
Just feels like enough, somehow?

Perhaps that time can be today
Perhaps right here, right now, I’ll say
“The only time there is, is NOW.”
And knowing this, I will allow

This thought, this choice, this thing at hand
To be enough, to understand
That although chaos ‘round me reigns,
I can choose peace within my brain

By simply letting what is, be.
And choosing what’s in front of me:
To wash a dish, or pull a weed,
Or tend to someone else’s need.

To sit and stare off into space
Or draw within and find that place
Where I can hold the world’s vast wrongs
Within the Love that keeps me strong.

So, just for now, I gently calm
The chaos with a deeper balm –
The balm of Love, compassion, grace…

I’m ready now, this day to face.
